Biosecurity for high-density arrays
More nodes = more cleaning!
Cleaning plans need special attention before installation, if sites are:
- silt or clay soil
- a known infection risk (farms, etc.)
- scheduled for >5 retrievals per team, per day.
Interim solution
For now, we recommend using disposable barrier bags if standard cleaning methods will be impractical. Nodes are installed inside the bags to prevent contact with the soil. We've seen good results with 10-15um plastics; the thin type commonly used for produce.
We can help you source bags that:
- comply with local regulations
- perform effectively
- biodegrade completely.
